Why invest in quality professional photography?
Invest in quality photography to preserve precious moments and capture milestones in life. Photographic images are meant to be printed and are a way to continue and share your family’s legacy for future generations to come. Quality, custom photography by a specially trained portrait artist is not for everyone. We give our clients personalized service, our creative commitment, and only use professional grade camera gear and professional lighting equipment.
We are priced accordingly to offer top of the line products and services to all of our clients. For example, there are discount stores, department stores and boutiques. We are the “boutique” of Houston Professional Photography studios with a fine art product line and stellar service.
How much is the session fee?
Our session fee varies depending on your needs. On a discovery call, we can understand which session type is the best fit for you. Our clients invest anywhere between $1500 to $10,000 and more, depending on taste and budget. A luxury investment demands a luxury experience, and with Michael Carr Photography, that’s exactly what you get.
What days and times are available for my session?
Houston professional photography sessions are scheduled Tuesdays-Fridays. Sessions may be scheduled between 9:30am-4:30pm, and are by appointment only. We do offer portrait sessions on Saturdays, and some evening time slots. Please ask for details.
How do I book my session?
Call the studio 713-461-2862 and we can help you with this. To book your session a non-refundable session retainer equal to the session fee is required to secure your session time. Sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled up to 48 hours (2 business days) before your session without incurring a charge.

Houston Family Photography
Houston portrait photographers, Michael and Lisa Carr, have been capturing timeless portraits for Houston families for over 20 years. The studio offers a custom, high-end relaxed photography experience whether it is at your home, favorite beach, outdoor location or in our commercial studio.
Michael and Lisa are one of the few Houston portrait photographers in Houston, TX that hold the title of distinction of Certified Professional Photographer, (CPP) with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) organization. Only 8% of full time working photographers in the US has earned this title. Michael and Lisa have photographed many Houstonians during their career path in life.
We have come to know our clients very well over the years and have photographed their life cycles. A few examples of milestone portraits are children’s portraits and grandchildren’s portraits, and also graduation portraits and senior portraits. We love capturing family portraits and all the way to their Legacy portraits. We have been blessed to be their family photographer for their families milestones.
In addition to Houston family portraits, Michael was broadened his craft by becoming a sought after Houston Headshot photographer. His unique approach and lighting style offers a new blend of corporate styles for executives seeking a competitive edge in the corporate arena. As a professional portrait photographer in the Houston Metro area for over 20 years, his work is often used in annual reports, editorials, commercial real estate marketing packets, PR packets, legal and medical web biographies and board of director portraits.
Business headshots can also be used for bio profile photos on social media sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. The studio is equipped with commercial grade lighting equipment. We also have a variety of professional backgrounds, dressing rooms, and digital workstations customized for most pre-press requirements. Clothing consultations are always complimentary. We partner with a nearby salon that can assist you with hair and makeup for your business portrait session.
Prior to our daughter being born, Lisa established Belly to Baby Studios. Lisa exclusively photographs the maternity portraits in our studio. She also loves capturing the new parents portraits with their newborn portraits here in the studio. She also photographs milestone portraits such as baby portraits for 6 months, 1 year and 2 year portraits, to name a few.
